You can't talk about the Gospel without talking about Jesus.  The Gospel is the good news.  That good news is all about Jesus.  The Gospel is spread with words that are spoken or read.  Those words were written down or scribed many years ago.  Those words are called scripture, and those scriptures are about Jesus.  The Bible also says that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.  That is talking about Jesus.  So the Word, the Gospel, the good news, the scriptures and Jesus are all one and the same.  Jesus was sacrificed one time so that those who obey and have faith in Him can have salvation.
